2011 Buddy Walk a Big Success

The 2011 Buddy Walk was held on Saturday, October 1 at Howard Amon Park in Richland.  Over 1100 people participated in the walk and raised over $40,000 for DSAMC!  Since it's inception in 2006, the DSAMC Buddy Walk has raised $205,000 with over 4600 walkers.  We truly appreciate the support from all of our sponsors, volunteers, and donors.  It all truly makes a big difference in raising awareness and acceptance!

About the Buddy Walk
The Buddy Walk™ was developed by the National Down Syndrome Society in 1995 to bring together a wide range of concerned individuals to reach out to friends, family, and co-workers; to promote awareness and inclusion for people with Down syndrome; and to raise funds for local and national education, research, and advocacy programs. There are nearly 300 Buddy Walks across the country and a quarter of a million participants. In 2007, they raised nearly $10 million! The Buddy Walk is a 1 mile walk that people of all ages and abilities can participate in..

DSAMC is run 100% by volunteers, which allows all money raised from the Buddy Walk to go towards supporting DSAMC-run programs and to raise awareness for Down syndrome.
